Rutherford Restaurants Cheat Sheet

Best Rutherford restaurant options, albeit few, range from Michelin-starred cuisine to inexpensive Mexican.

No need to wade through thousands of user reviews. Below are the best Rutherford restaurants (plus a nearby Oakville option) in a nutshell. Inglenook and the Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil require reservations; they’re recommended at Rutherford Grill.

Inglenook Bistro
Wine by the glass or bottle (nonalcoholic beverages, too), plus cheeses, cured meats, and small bites à la carte 11–4 daily.  Wine Bar $$

The feel is Parisian at the Bistro at Inglenook.

La Luna Market & Taqueria
Inexpensive and tasty burritos, tacos, and the like; breakfast and lunch served (if in a hurry, call ahead).  Mexican $

Even on an overcast winter’s day, the view from Auberge’s Bistro and Bar is sublime.

Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil
Inspired French-influenced prix-fixe menu at posh lodging’s Michelin-starred destination restaurant (lead photo), casual à la carte fare at adjacent Bistro and Bar with valley-view wraparound deck.  Modern American $$$$

Rutherford Grill
Hangout of winery workers and owners, superb cocktails, excellent ribs, grilled meats, and American classics; seasonal grilled-artichoke appetizer a local fave.  American $$$

Cocktails, local wines, and grilled and rotisserie meats are the specialties here.

Oakville Option
